Michael Guiou at YOGA SOUK

 

Michael is a Level 2 Authorized teacher by the Sharath Yoga Centre in Mysore, India. He founded his Ashtanga program, Sadhana in the City, 12 years ago in New York City. Last year, having outgrown his studio space in Soho, he teamed up with Rima Rabbath and moved the program to SOUK Yoga Studio in the Flatiron District.

The pairing has created beautiful growth in the NYC ashtanga community. In October 2024 they hosted Sharath Jois in New York for the first, and sadly last, time since the global pandemic. Now Michael is excited to bring his years of experience teaching the diversity of New York to Beirut. Michael has been a consistent student of both the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga practice. His teaching takes a non dogmatic approach that prioritizes the individual needs of each student.

There is always room for a bit of laughter and fun in Michael’s Mysore room; ashtanga is a joyful discipline.
