ASHTANGA

Is a dynamic method of sequenced postures linked with breath and concentration techniques, popularized in modern times by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois. In this class, the postures of the primary series will be taught by the teacher calling out the names of the postures in Sanskrit according to the classical Vinyasa count.

MYSORE

The traditional method of learning Ashtanga Yoga. Students are instructed on an individual basis to learn and maintain practicing the transitional sequence of Ashtanga over time with hands on adjustments, personalized guidance from the teacher and attention to special needs. This is a great way to establish a self-practice.

LED CLASS

It’s a method in which the postures are linked with breath, movement and concentrations techniques. The primary series is taught by the teacher calling out names of the postures in Sanskirt according to the classical Ashtanga method.
This class is taught weekly to revise lessons learned in Mysore classes as well as to ensure pace, rhythm, vinyasa count and correct drishti (looking places) in ones’ practice. To be able to get the full benefits of this class, you should either practice Mysore or have a consistent Ashtanga practice.

 

OTHER CLASSES:

 

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is a calm, passive practice that offers a deep stretch to the shoulders, hips, pelvis and spine. Asanas are held for a minimum of 3 minutes and help maintain the health of the joints and fascia (connective tissue).
A regular Yin practice helps open blocked energy channels, increases flexibility, and balances the mind and body.

 

YOGA NIDRA AND MEDITATION             

Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. It starts with a Gentle yoga asana (posture) sequence to help reduce physical stress and strain followed by some Pranayama (breathing) exercises to induce calmness and it ends with a guided deep relaxation (for around 20min). The practitioner feels completely relaxed, present and rejuvenated at the end of Yoga Nidra Class.

 

IYENGAR YOGA  ( FUNCTIONAL YOGA )       

Iyengar Yoga is a style of Hatha yoga named after its founder BKS Iyengar. It differs from other styles of yoga in its unique aspect of emphasis on precision and alignment in performing the asanas (postures) Quality of movement is prioritized over quantity. Specific teaching points awaken the body’s intelligence:  you learn to move with ease in your body while working within your limitations. The use of props is incorporated when needed to make the posture accessible for everyone and safe to perform.

 

KUNDALINI YOGA

is an age-old practice that promotes well-being, happiness and spiritual awareness. It combines postures and movement, breathing techniques, mantra and meditation into powerful sets that automatically guide the energies of the body and the mind to a specific result or change of consciousness.

 

GENTLE FLOW

A mindful movement class with an emphasis on safe alignment in the body. Gradually building a strong foundation of practice, quality is prioritized over quantity. Specific teaching points awaken the body’s intelligence, learning to move with ease wherever we are in the present moment. The use of props is incorporated to allow for more accessibility and stability.

 

RESTORATIVE YOGA

One of the best ways to counter a fast-paced, stressed-out life off the mat, Restorative Yoga offers therapeutic tools to balance the nervous system in order to truly rest and replenish energy. With long holds in supported, relaxing poses, students will access states of deep mind and body relaxation through the architecture of restorative poses. This physiological response inherently lowers blood pressure, reduces insomnia or anxiety, improves digestion and immune system. Restorative Yoga is the perfect supplement to more active practices like vinyasa, ashtanga, hot yoga, and a great recovery tool for those overcoming illness or injury. This class is suitable for all levels of practitioners.

 

KIDS YOGA 

Classes for 3 to 6 years old and for 7 to 12 years old are offered. They are fun with a lot of movement to engage and inspire children. They are also creative and catered for the kids’ energy levels and focus on all the facets of yoga: breathing, poses and relaxation.

Private yoga classes are tailored to fit the exact needs of the student.
