Ashtanga Yoga Workshop w/ Samuel James Brown

Saturday February 10: 

3:30pm – 6:00pm: Rooting your practice
This workshop will explore how the breath is connected to moments of the body. How do the muscles want to fire and engage when we breath. How can we intelligently move in this manner to find a mature way of moving instead of just blindly using alignment cues over a misaligned body.
By moving with the intelligence of the breath we can see how the nervous system is directly related and why Asana can have such an impact on the body and mind.

Saturday March 3: 

3:30pm – 6:00pm: Exploring the Hips and Pelvis
We will be Exploring forward folds and hip openers. How does the pelvis move around the head of the femur. We will arrange the body within the Asana to get the most out of every breath and make sure we achieve a well round stretch rather than just pulling in the muscles.

Saturday April 14: 

3:30pm – 6:00pm: Exploring the Spine
The focus of this workshop is how to back bend throughout the entire spine rather than just dumping in the low back. We will look at the difference between active and passive back bends, how to bend through the upper spine, and proper shoulder alignment.
